A Lovely Night

So yesterday I hung out at Disneyland as is becoming my custom on Fridays. I hung out with Charles the artist on Main Street for a good portion of the afternoon then wandered around Disneyland and took pictures of spring in the park. It was a beautiful day and I absolutely loved just finding the blossoms and flowers around and attempting to capture a portion of their beauty. Too bad I'm not a better photographer and my camera can't do everything I wish it could. Maybe someday though!

I visited Charles some more following my picture walk and then headed off to watch the parade. I watched it at my usual spot on the Canon where my friend Stephanie was performing as Little Bo Peep in Disney's Parade of Dreams. It was a very hot day but definitely worth the wait as she makes a very cute Bo Peep. After the parade was over, Robby called me and asked about what kind of a new cell phone should he get and we chatted for a few minutes before I went and visited Dave, who was now the resident artist. After visiting with him for awhile, Audra came over and we walked around the hub for a half hour while she was supposed to be hanging out with Guests. During the walk a funny thing happened, I saw the "evil queen" walking over towards the castle and imediately blurted out "where's britt!?" To which Audra started laughing because a few seconds later, here he came with his giant camera following a long like a little puppy. Anyway, I was texting Stephanie and told her something funny had just happened so she called me back and I told her what had just happened. Then shortly after, Robby showed up. We watched the second parade and then went to In N Out which was YUMMY! Afterwards, we hussled back to the park and went over to DCA where we watched the Electric Parade formerly Disneyland's Main Street Electrical Parade. We watched with Robby's friend Margo who had saved us a place, and then this girl Michelle who is Merriweather in Parade of Dreams watched part of it too with us cuz she was uncast. We saw Stephanie, Angela, Aimee, Kim, and some other of our friends in the parade and then ran to the other end of the route to wave and make Stephanie almost laugh at us cuz we were jumping up and down and waving like idiots (I was in business casual so it looked even funnier I'm sure). After the parade, Robby and I beelined it for the Muppets and enjoyed our favorite DCA attraction. We like to compare ourselves to Waldorf and Stadler (the hecklers).

After Muppets, we went over and met up with Stephanie behind Big Thunder Mountain. She was on the phone with me but was still able to sneak up on me. When I saw her...my heart skipped. It was great! :) We then headed to Pirates only to discover a really long line...as well as Mansion...so when in need for a short line..head to Fantasyland! So, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride it was! I got in the driver's seat (which was on the right since Mr. Toad's story takes place in the land of right handed driving apparently) and promptly decided to do no driving. Stephanie then took it upon herself to drive us through Toad Hall, the backcountry, the town, the docks, the court (where we were pronounced guilty), our escape, and then the horrific crash...which landed us in hell...which was hot for once...other times it hasn't. As we were just about to leave hell, I told Stephanie how great she looked (amazing!. It was a blast! Afterwards Stephanie wanted to go on the Carousel but we went on Case Jr's Train first as she hadn't ridden it before. We took this REALLY cute picture of us and couldn't stop chatting through the entire ride. We talked about the most random things. It was quite fun.

Then we went on the Carousel. It was actually quite fun. I hadn't been on it in YEARS! I woudln't admit to it though as Robby would think I was absolutely crazy. After going on the Carousel we hit Storybookland as Stephanie had never been on it either. It was fun and she sat next to me again (3 rides and counting!). The scenes from the boat are gorgeous. Robby was quite excited because this couple from the south that we see all the time were riding around above us on Casey Jr's Train. The lady's hair is HUGE and he is tall and bald and so they are easy to pick out. Robby was hilarious on it and totally entertaining. :)

After that, we went back to Main Street so that Stephanie could look at a Pirate Princess watch...and also so I could take her to see my friend Desirae who has known about our ongoing secret romance I guess for a few weeks. :) It was a very happy time and she looked at our watch and Desirae helped us out and got to talk to Stephanie. I really hope they end up friends. :) They are two of my favorite people. As we were standing there talking, my friend Jon from Custodial came in and chatted with us. He is a great guy. He gave me two stickers which I promptly put one on Stephanie's forhead (I wish I had taken a picture of that) and I put the other on Robby. We talked for a few minutes and I noticed it was almost midnight so I suggested booking it over to Peter Pan and calling it a night after that. So we did just that. We got in line and to Robby's delight, Janice and Craig ended up in that line also! We were cracking up about it cuz they waited at the line entrance so they could be the very last people on the attraction for the night. There was also a ton of electricity in the air, that had been there all night, but finally I just kind of touched Stephanie's arm with a couple of my fingers and to my delight, she did the same back! It was probably a very good thing that Robby was there but hopefully he didn't feel like a chaperone. Anyway, we went on Peter Pan and Stephanie sat very close and it was just a wonderful time as we chatted our way through never never land in our own never never land. As we stepped off our little ship and walked out into the night, Fantasyland was absolutely silent except for the sound of Peter teaching the Darling children how to fly. We stood and listened to it for a few minutes before heading on. Really, it was just an opportunity for Stephanie and I to secretly glance over and look at each other, but who's counting right? The whole night had been full of those little moments of looking at each other, texting cute little texts to each other that allowed us to flirt without making Robby uncomfortable, and of getting to just enjoy each other's company.

Realizing it was already 12:30 we started making our way out of the park. As we walked out of the Main Gate I mused that this is about when we usually see Norm the Hypnotist. Sure enough, thirty seconds later there he was! We talked with him for awhile and then my brother and his friend Rob showed up. We all chatted for a few minutes and then Brian and Rob hopped the tram back to the parking structure and Norm, Stephanie, Robby and I walked back. After getting back to the parking structure I drove Stephanie back to TDA so she could pick up her car. As I stopped to drop her off and she was about to get out of the car, I said something to the effect of "hold on, I wanna give you a hug" before she could get away. I jumped out of the car and walked around and we hugged one of the best hugs EVER! We just stood there and talked and hugged for about a half hour. We shared feelings and it was just right. We looked into each others eyes and there was no fear or nervousness there. It was just us and nothing else mattered. The second hug, she put her head on my shoulder and I died and went to heaven. A hug or two later, a white car started pulling in and I had to move the car so we said goodnight. It was a terrific ending to the night and a terrific day. I'm so thankful for people like Robby and Stephanie who can make the roughest week amazing! Life definitely has its ups and downs but with people around who care for you and vice a versa, it is just an amazing journey. Anyway, that was my fantastic Friday and even lovelier Friday night. I think Stephanie and I are going to hang out again on Sunday. I'm looking forward to it! :)

Good News Bad News

The good news is that yes it was a stroke but no there wasn't any hemoraging so apparently they won't need to go in and do brain surgery. The not so good news is that she has a clogged artery or something and she probably will not regain use of her left arm/hand, and will have difficulty walking in a best case scenario. The worst case scenario is that she would not recover any more than she has now. Please pray for a miracle. Dad is having a very hard time with this. Dwight should be here in a bit and so should my friend Allison. One of the girls from Starbucks came to the hospital this afternoon and hung out and was an emense help for my sisters. They were actually laughing and having fun. It was a major blessing. I really don't know what tomorrow will bring and this is definitely going to be a major test of faith. It is completely overwhelming and I'm sure at some point I will break down but for now am doing "ok." There are other things going on also and some decisions that will need to be made in the next few days so please pray for those too. Thanks to everyone for your support.

Mom had a stroke

So last night I walked into the kitchen and saw Jeanette lying on the ground on her left side, somewhat holding her head.

“are you ok?”

“yea, I just have a headache, can you get me an ice pack out of the freezer?”

“ok,”

I walked over and got her an ice pack

“Did you fall?”

“no, I got down to get ginger”

I suddenly realized her speech was slurred and handed her the ice pack which she put on her head.

“Can you move your left hand for me?”

Her right leg moved instead, her left hand was pinned under her leg a little bit.

“I need you to move your left hand for me, can you do that?”

“I AM moving my left hand”

“Ok, well you sit here for a minute and I’ll be right back.”

I ran upstairs and grabbed dad and we called 911.

When I re-entered the kitchen she kept saying something about Ginger but I couldn’t pick it up. It seemed to me that the slurring got progressively worse throughout the above conversation.

She is currently in the hospital and just had an MRI done. The neurologist is puzzled by all of this as she didn't have an warning signs or conditions that would have brought about this type of thing to happen. Please keep her in your prayers.

Peter Pan

So today I went to Barnes and Nobles to get Peter Pan. I've never read it before and so I thought it'd be kind of fun to do. I'm a fan of the Disney Peter Pan movie and also of Hook. So I walk into Barnes and Nobles in my sport coat and start looking in the fiction section and can't find it. So a guy offers to help me and we discover it is in the children's section. This guy apparently doesn't work in children's very often though as we get there and he has no clue where to look. Thankfully the manager and assistant manager were nearby so he asked them and the next thing I know, I have THREE people helping me with Peter Pan. We quickly found it and I turn to go pay and the manager starts asking me if I know about the new Peter Pan books to which I replied I'd read in the news about the unofficial sequel that is causing a stir and some other stuff. Anyway, this guy starts showing me all of these Peter Pan books and telling me about them. It was quite humorous to me as they were all doting on me and went way out of their way to help. It wasn't like the store was empty either. It amazes me how when you dress up people treat you differently. Anyway, that was my amusing experience of the day.

Update

I realized I have been updating my myspace blog but not this so here is a brief rundown in the life of Robert. Since the last update one of my best friends died of an aneurism at the age of 21. It was not the best ending in the world and a lot of things ended badly, thankfully not between us. There has been some things happening since her death that has been completely despicable as people she once considered friends have tried to cash in on her death. It is very messed up and I know it must be causing her family a ton of pain. That has been the biggest change in life. We would email back and forth at least a dozen times every day so it is taking some getting adjusting to get used to not having those "New Messages" signs on the email every day. I guess that is life though. Anyway, that is the update.

What a Day

Today has just been one of those days. It started off well enough I guess, but not terrific. I knew a friend was going to the doctor to get some results from a test and from the information I've gotten so far...the results weren't that good. My friend is quite scared and I'm praying for them. I really hope things go ok. Some things didn't go quite perfectly at work today either technology wise. I think I'm just going to quit early today and maybe go to the beach tonight. We'll see if I actually make it there. I also have some birthday money I could go spend but I don't really feel like shopping so that probably won't happen. Anwyway, there is the quick update. Keep my friend in your prayers!

It's Alright

So i just opened up www.pandora.com and type in BEATLES and what comes on as the first Beatles song it finds me? Here Come's The Sun which happens to be one of my, if not my very, favorite Beatles song. Anyway, today was CRAZY hot here...just like the last few days have been...not my favorite in the world but I live on I suppose. At least in Ventura in the later afternoon/early evening it was clouding up. Hopefully that means things will be cooler. I should have gone to the beach tonight. Would have been much cooler. Oh well, I had pizza instead and watched some WEST WING episodes with the parents and Skipper. Then I wandered around outside and then finally made my way up here and to the computer. Exciting, yes I know. I think next I'm going to go look at boats 'cause I really have been feeling the urge to get one and get out on the water. I just miss it and it is SO relaxing and I could use a little more recreation in my life I think. In fact, with that said, it's time to go look at boats!

mmmm bbq

Tonight I bbq'd a steak for dinner with bbq'd baked potatoes and peas with onions mixed in. It turned out really yummy. Oh yea, we had french bread on the side too. So Brian, Christy, and I enjoyed our feast and almost finished all the food, but not quite. It was a huge steak so I would have been really surprised if we had finished it. After dinner we cleaned the house some before heading to the harbor where we got ice cream and wandered around. We all had fun catching the sunset, watching the boats, and picking on each other. Then we came back to the house and I did laundry and I'm not sure what the others did. Now we are sitting here watching Iron Chef: America....the greatest show on the Food Network. My brother watched it with me last week and got hooked and I think Christy will be hooked after tonight. Only ten minutes into it and she is raving about it lol. I think I will go to bed as soon as the show is over as I'm pretty tired. I'm drinking lemonade as we watch. Could life be any better? Well possibly, but I'm not complaining at all! :)
